Anim Mahmud, whose full name is Niaz Mahmud Anim, is a Bangladeshi lyricist, screenwriter, dialogue writer, creative writer, mechanical engineer and university lecturer. Alongside his academic and engineering career, he contributes to Bangladesh’s media industry through drama writing, screenplay, dialogue, song lyrics and original creative development. Who is Anim Mahmud?
Anim Mahmud, professionally known by that name and formally known as Niaz Mahmud Anim, is a Bangladeshi lyricist, screenwriter, dialogue writer, creative writer, mechanical engineer and lecturer. His professional and creative journey connects engineering, aviation-sector experience, higher education and Bangladesh’s media industry.
He completed his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST). After completing his engineering studies, he worked with US-Bangla Airlines for an extended period before moving into academia. He currently serves as a Lecturer in Industrial and Production Engineering (IPE) at the European University of Bangladesh.
Alongside his technical and academic career, Anim has remained actively involved in creative writing. His work spans lyrics, screenplay, dialogue, drama stories, short-film concepts and soundtrack-related writing. This multidisciplinary path allows him to approach creative work with both imagination and structural thinking.
